A Love Letter to my Favourite Authors

I loved reading growing up. A lot of the books I read left an impact on me, and I've been lucky to find a handful of people in my life who read some of the same books I did. I want to high-light a few of the stand-out books that come to mind.

This isn't intended to be a "hidden gems" list. It's also not a list of books exclusive to things I read in my childhood. Just books that hit me in a similar way.

    • Anne Mccaffrey - Dragon Riders of Pern
    • Brian Jacques - Redwall
    • Cornelia Funke - Inkheart, Dragon Rider, The Thief Lord
    • J.R.R Tolkien - The Hobbit
    • Harper Lee - To Kill a Mockingbird
    • Markus Zusak - The Book Thief
    • Ray Bradbury - Something Wicked this Way Comes
    • Douglas Adams - Last Chance to See

    Anne Mccaffrey

    Special Mentions

Books I like where I can't really claim to have a strong connection to the author (or am omitting them for other reasons).

    • Piransei - Susann Clarke
    • Ender's Game
    • Where the Red Fern Grows - Wilson Rawls
    • The Call of the Wild - Jack London
    • Frankenstien - Mary Shelley
    • Snuff - Terry Pratchett (Love Terry Pratchett, but got into the books much later)

Fun Romps that didn't impact me much but which I remember fondly:

A Series of Unfortunate Events - Lemony Snicket
